25 sold-out
concerts in the biggest available venues from 10 countries...6 weeks of
records.
I followed
the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour since 19th of June, starting with
Chicago. I watched all the TV appearances from press conferences to Classic
Rock Awards, The X Factor or Die Helene Fischer
Show.
NOTHING compares to the feeling you have when you have them right
in front of you...when you are there, just a few meters away from them. The
sounds, the lights, the energy...and other pleasant things to watch. They’re
issues you live being physically there. It’s uncomparable the satisfaction you
get. And the level of your adrenaline...
Even if
it’s more than a month passed since the Vienna concert (personal review HERE), I still get shivers every
time I watch the photos or the videos. I still think that it was all just a
dream from which I woke up too early.
Whenever I
listen to “Radio Gaga” I remember the euphoria of the moment I made the
handshake with Adam and even if some people might think it’s stupid, for me the
physical contact through the hands is extremely important. I really feel that
you give and receive a lot with that simple touch. So yes, that was and remains
the highlight of the concert...at least for me. I will never forget his amazing
eyes seen from only a few centimetres.
I won’t
forget either memorable things like the eye-contacts, the smiles and that
positive energy you could get from all over.
Prague (personal review HERE) was
something else. I wanted to be near stage B in order to have a better view of
the moments I briefly saw in Vienna. “Who Wants To Live Forever” was the first
on the list, then “Killer Queen”, “Under Pressure” and so on. I got a little
further than expected (in Vienna I was in front row, stage A), but I achieved
my goals.
I said that
it was something else because this time I had my mother right next to me and it
was a totally different energy.
I choose “Killer
Queen” as the highlight of the night because I enjoyed a lot every note, word,
gesture and face. “Save Me” remains my favourite soul-to-soul song. Of course,
the most spiritual moment was “Who Wants To Live Forever”...those lights take
you into another dimension. You can’t understand it until you’re there. “Under
Pressure” was one of the many occasions that demonstrate the close connection
between Adam Lambert, Roger Taylor and Brian May. They collaborate beautifully,
but it’s more than just work. It’s obvious how much they love and respect each
other.
After
having the opportunity to attend 2 of the concerts of this tour, I definitely
can call it “The Dreams Come True Tour”. I couldn’t even imagine that one day I
would go to a Queen concert...I grew up with their music, I listen to them on
the radios even now, I watch the covers done in the talent shows and I join the
concerts where songs from their catalogue are being performed, but from this to
listening live to the band that impacted so many generations, there is a big
step. And I’m proud, happy and grateful for being able to make it.
Adam is
-honestly- the reason I “ran” after the ticket for Vienna in the first day of
pre-sale. I have been following him for more than 4 years, but I haven’t seen
him live before...and I wanted it badly!
It was a huge dream come true listening live to his peerless voice...and
I enjoyed even with my very last cell of mine his presence and his aura. I
still think it’s unreal. Everything! Him, his voice, the fact that I was there
and most of all, seeing him sharing the stage with one of the most resonant
names of the all-times music. I feel honoured and delighted to be his
supporter.
For Brian
May and Roger Taylor I have huge respect and admiration. The way they perform
makes you go back in time. They seem to have the same age as in their golden
era. They are true professionals, the best in what they do and still they are
so humble.
Like I said
to my mother, who on Earth dreamed about getting to a Queen concert during Ceausescu (Romanian
dictator leading my country until 1989)? Well, for those Romanians who didn’t
get the chance then, now they could have taken part in the most beautiful
tribute that someone could bring to the initial band and of course to Freddie
Mercury.
So, after "The Dreams Come True Tour" I strenghtened my own beliefs and I defnitely remain
a totally optimist person.
Yes, dreams do come true!
You just
have to believe...AND act!
