English Review - Q&AL in Milan - 25.06.2018

In one word? PHENOMENAL!

It was the 5th time seeing Queen & Adam Lambert live (and 7th time seeing Adam) and, believe it or not, I still felt huge adrenaline rush minutes before the show.

I queued for 9 hours in a very sunny Milan, surrounded by many, many die-hard Queen fans, most of them coming from Italy, but also Japan, UK, France (met Estelle, one amazingly talented Glambert - check her drawing on her Instagram account) and other countries.
Around 5 PM I heard the rehearsals - they played "Another One Bites The Dust".

They let us in around 7:30 PM. I reached the front row in a corner of the B stage (where I never stayed before) and had a totally different view than the last time in Budapest.
Those 90 minutes left were the longest of the year so far.

Once again, I hadn't watched any videos from this tour, so I had no idea how the new intro would sound or 'look'.

Few minutes before 9 PM the lights went off, the audience started roaring and at 9:09 PM Frank made his appearance.
"Tear It Up" started and Adam made his intro with  "Are you ready?! We're gonna tear it up!".
He and Brian came to the catwalk, greeting the wild audience.

In my opinion, a very well-chosen opening song: high energy, rhythm, power.

The highlight of the night, to me, was -without doubt- "The Show Must Go On".
This peformance had everything: the VOICE, the emotions, the drama, the pain. Breathtaking!
It was the first time I got the privilege and honor to watch and hear it live. Wow!
The vocals were incredible - Adam does a flawless job.
Just imagine the work and energy it takes to perform such a song on a 2 hour set with many other 'beasts', including "Who Wants To Love Forever". It's so demanding and so vocally-tiring and yet this man does it effortlessly

When it comes to highlights, it's impossible not to mention (over and over again) "Who Wants To Live Forever", another favourite and one of the most heartfelt ever written and performed songs.
I remember that the audience exploded into applause and cheering seconds before Adam finished it. If there were any doubts regarding "the new man", that performance in particular left everyone speechless.

"Play The Game" was another beautiful moment - magnificent performance!

"Lucy" was a great surprise for the Glamberts
Brian's riffs are amazingly well blended with Adam's voice, making it a powerful live performance.
I enjoyed it on "The Original High Tour" as well, but this time it was more special.

Adam told us we were the loudest European audience. And that's totally true. The italians can sing!
"Somebody To Love" was a perfect moment for the audience to get even louder.

The love for Brian and Roger was huge.
The enthusiastic public was overwhelming. Brian was visibly moved. He played "O sole mio" right before "Love Of My Life".

"Killer Queen" and "Bicycle Race" were the 'delight' of the night. Fun, campy, colorful. Pure joy!

The Adam - Brian riff duo before "I Want It All" was memorable

Every second was dreamy. Words can't describe this kind of experience.

 So what are the conclusions?

Queen and Adam Lambert have proven once again that their formula is magical

Not only they bring back many memories to people of all ages, but also they create new ones for everyone with every show & every performance
Their chemistry is unique.
Their performances get better and better every year (I know... how is that even possible?!).
Their show is MINDBLOWING!

Thank you Brian, Roger, Adam and everyone for making the show in Milan another milestone of my life!

Love from Romania!
