English Review: Adam Lambert -The Original High Tour - Vienna- 02.05.2016

[Here you can watch the full concert - thanks to riddle601b]

[Only small cameras were allowed, so definitely my photos and videos are far from being HD. Shitty camera, shitty photos. There i said it!]

I wanted this review to be different than the others I've done, so I'll let you know all that I feel and think now.

I'm writing it with the obvious symptoms of the PCD (Post Concert Depression).

I mean... Adam's like a drug.
Once he's in, he owns your heart. That's for sure! You become addicted...and it's too bad that you can't enjoy him every single day. That's why PCD always hits hard and I know everyone can relate to it.

This was my 4th time seeing Adam live and 2nd time seeing him on his own
The last time I saw him in New York City at MSG during "Fresh Fall Festival". He had then a 45-minute set. It was such a high hearing him for the first time singing his own songs and I think he is a genius in both ways - as a solo artist as well as a lead singer for a legendary band like Queen.
Back to what I wanted to say...if back then in October I witnessed his power in owning that stage (as well as any other!), imagine how does it feel now to see him on his solo world tour, being his own boss and offering a longer setlist which makes you travel in time & memories both as a Glambert and as a human being.

Pre-show there were some long hours before we got in. Things got wild at one point with everybody pushing and things like that, but I haven’t attended any concert yet where this didn’t happen, so I took it with calm and hoped for the best.
I was in the 5th/6th row, depending on the people who moved or pushed during the show. Not what I dreamed of, but I had a decent view and I enjoyed every second with every fiber of me. (Writing this after 2 days and my whole body still hurts haha The best work-out ever!)

Adam is so right about diversity. That’s something I saw in Vienna from the minute I got into the queue. There were all types of people, from 10 year-old girls to 75+ year-old fierce lady. Many men –especially in my area inside the venue- and also many Queen fans. In comparison to last year’s Queen & Adam Lambert show in Vienna I attended, where the audience was not so mixed (there were 2 main ’groups’: the Queen fans, almost all of them 50+ years old and the Glamberts with an average of 20 year-old girls and & some boys), this time it had everything and everyone. That’s truly amazing! Yes, it is the power of music. And the power of Adam!
Vienna’s audience was over my expectations in terms of feedback/singing/cheering. No idea how it sounded on the streams, but it was loud and very responsive. Adam loved it. Not only because of that, but also because there were a lot of cute boys; Denis is already a star haha. I was very close to him and he was almost dying. Cute moment!
I lost my voice after the concert, so I guess I did it right hehe.

Adam had spectacular high notes and vocal acrobatics. Also, he interacted a lot with the people – another aspect I LOVE about him. He’s very human. He makes eye-contact all the time. He cares about how you feel during his show. He’s not a robot who is honoring his contract, takes his money and leaves. No, he is very professional, an impressive talent, but also he is a very warm-hearted man who enjoys music, enjoys performing, enjoys himself on the stage and the audience he plays for. And that energy blows off roofs!

The band and the dancers deserve all the praise! They're great musicians & artists!

The setlist was the regular one;  I’ll try to highlight what I loved the most. (Is there something I didn't...?!)

Intro

A+ for the video production and lights!
During the whole show I was impressed by the technological part, but this Intro flashing Adam’s name and all the symbols he loves was amaaaazing!
Also it was so exciting to hear "Can't Go Home" just before the intro. It sounds so good!

Evil In The Night

Adam's appearance was glorious!
Shades, black suite and tremendous vocal power.
One of the best songs performed live from "The Original High"!

"For Your Entertainment"

Throwback to his first solo album.
A song that definitely entertains... and that final high note is unbelievable!

"Ghost Town"

First single off "The Original High".
People sang loudly.
Vocals on point and what a choreography! It's lovely to see Adam dancing more and more. He's got the moves!

"Welcome To The Show"

Personally, one of the most expected live renditions.
This song is so fierce! It shows Adam's powerful voice and lets him play a lot.
LOVED it!

"Runnin' "

Another beautiful song I expected so badly to hear live!
It sounds amazing.
The lower register fits Adam so well!

"Chokehold"

Very emotional, deep, strong performance.
To me, another underrated song. (Again, like someone said on Twitter, "Trespassing" should be re-released. Such a wonderful album!)

"Sleepwalker"

Its instrumental is amazingly well done! It creates an euphoric atmosphere.
Powerful song and vocals.

"Underground"

My personal favorite instrumental. Those 10-15 seconds before he starts singing are heavenly!
Also my favourite lyrics off the album, so definitely one of the most adored minutes of the show.
Goosebumps!

"Rumors"

Banger!
High notes and great energy!
Wish I could see him perform it with Tove Lo someday... they would kill it!

"Lucy"

Killer performance!
Like "Welcome To The Show", this one also lets Adam do vocal acrobatics. Holy high notes!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"After Hours"

Adam comes back with his second outfit. He always looks great, but black fits him perfectly!
The crowed roared as he performed this sexy bonus track off his latest album.

"Mad World"

Throwback to his Idol days.
One of the most emotional performances of the night.
Beautiful, touching voice!

Speech

Another favourite moment. I love to see him talking to the audience.
Cute & funny.
True and meaningful words regarding today's world.
He had such a happy face! He's contagious!

"Whataya Want From Me"

Adam's signature, I'd say.
Greaaaaaat sing-along!
I'll never get tired of this song.

"Another Lonely Night"

The other song about the heart.
Not only his voice, but also the brilliant lights made this performance a stellar one.

---------------------------------------------------------

"The Light"

The start of the dance party. Third outfit.
Colors, lights and high energy.
Everyone enjoyed every second!

"The Original High"

My favourite song off the album.
Very personal; truly a special one!
The changes on the second half of the instrumental sound very badass.

"Never Close Our Eyes"

Some of the most beautiful lyrics off "Trespassing".
Once again, the instrumental was changed, so the song got dance-y-er.

"Lay Me Down"

The killer one in terms of dance moves!
Whoooa!
Happy to see that he performed it during the tour because it's a hot track.

"Shady"

Sexiness continues with this funky song that everyone knew!
Nice 2012-2013 throwback.

"Fever"

Well...the song's title says it all.
I remember that I dropped my phone during it...I was too into it haha

"If I Had You"

Everyone screamed and kept dancing.
Honestly, I think it's better that he decided to perform it this way.
In October I heard the reggae version and I'm not saying that it was bad (not at all!), but the original version gets THE feedback.
I'll always remember "All we need in this world is some LOVE" haha

------------------------------------------------------------------

"Trespassing"

Once again, the crowd roars.
Everyone was singing and dancing as he returned for the encore.

Sing-Along

Great response! Nice notes we hit haha
He was surprised. And he enjoyed it as much as we did.
Funny moment with the bra thrown on the stage. German-ish haha

"Another One Bites The Dust"

4th time hearing it live.
Falling in love with his version more and more.
Fierce!

He ended the show with a glorious high note and then it felt like the ~90 minutes just flew away.

I was so happy to see Adam’s tweet right after the concert. It takes a special audience/show to make him express something on social media, so I’m feeling very lucky for taking part of that crowd.

Adam Lambert is a phenomenon.
Words are useless. They can’t describe the feelings and highs you get. His energy is sooo contagious! His beautiful eyes really are the mirror to his heart and, like I usually say, his smile is healing energy!
He was born to own the stages worldwide! Period.

Can't wait to have him in Romania with Queen on June 21st! Counting down the minutes left.

Thank you for everything, Adam!
Wish there were more artists and human beings like you.
Huge love, respect and admiration!
